It is with mixed feelings that I announce my retirement from Mid-Carolina Obstetrics & Gynecology effective December 23, 2014.  I am sad to leave the profession and the practice I have loved for so long but I am glad to move onto the next phase of life knowing fully that it is the right time.

When Bill Goldston and I started this practice in January 1978, we set out to provide the best up-to-date medical care in a compassionate, family-friendly setting and to do so at a fair cost.  Through the years as we have grown and doctors and staff have changed, we have tried to continue following those principles.  It is with great satisfaction that I leave Mid-Carolina Ob/Gyn in very capable hands.

Throughout my 38-year career, I have been very fortunate to work with many phenomenal doctors and staff.  It has been a privilege to have had so many wonderful patients and to have been a part of your lives at such important times.  I will always be thankful to you for allowing me to do so.  Even after all this time and almost 6000 babies, I still remember the joy and uniqueness of birth and miss seeing that miracle each day.  I wish that all my efforts to remember everyone’s names had been more successful but appreciate your understanding.

Thank you again for the privilege of being your physician.  Everyone here at Mid-Carolina is dedicated to helping you with your medical care, and of course, if you choose to go elsewhere, your medical records are available.

Sincerely,

Leon Woodruff, MD
